Humminbird ICE35 Battery charge
« on: Feb 07, 2013, 03:04 PM »
Looking for some advice on my Humminbird Ice 35 battery.
Charge it up, take it out, works great.
Take it out for day 2, battery says full charge still, and it lasts maybe 3 or 4 hours and starts to die, so maybe 10-11 hours total.
Is this the usual amount of running time one can expect to get out of this battery??

i get more like 15-20 hrs run time on the battery in my 55, but it all depends on how the battery has been maintained.  i don't think that 10-11hrs on a charge is bad at all unless your battery is brand new.  i also find battery level indicators to be kind of like fuel gauges where it may take a while to get off full but once it does watch it go...

I have an ice 35. I typically recharge mine about every three days on the ice. Usually spend about 9 hours out at a time

Mine also lasts roughly 3 trips of all day fishing. I usuallly charge it up after the second day. The problem with my Ice 35 is I've lost the yellow and red colours... I'm going strictly on green here and don't want to send it in for repair until after ice season.

Sounds like the sound of my battery which died a slow death, do a load charge, if you have a volt meter test it when showing charged it should be 12+ volts, then turn you flasher on if the volts drops at all below 11, you have a bad cell and your battery is going to get worse and eventually die, I just went through a fight with HB to get a warranty on it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Do you think it makes a big difference storing the unit indoors between uses?

I never leave my electronics out in the cold, other than when I am fishing. Battery's hate cold, and hate heat, room temp is best.

ice 35 draws 200ish mah if i remember correct .... so 5 hours would be 1 amp h so in a perfect world you should get 35 hrs out of it now if you battery gets real cold kiss those numbers ... but i would say my 35 gets about 2 full days 12 hrs so 24 ish or 3 regular days.

so battery might be toast
