Some small ponds near me look pretty god but I have no idea how thick

Went by Gorton Pond in Warwick a few minutes ago. Wide open, and I mean WIDE.

The N.W RI. Ponds are getting better every day. As we all know there's no such thing as safe ice but here is what I have seen. The big waters like Bowdish and Echo Lake are still mostly open. Medium size ponds like Wilson's,Wakefield,smith and Sayles and Keach pond still have some open water. The small ponds like Pecks and Tarklin are locked up tight.  Use your chisel to check as you go and you should be all set.

me and flatland killed it today up near Worcester more flags than i can remember and a nice 4 lb 9 oz larry,boot. 5-6 inches of ice

Eric thanks for your report on Breakheart. How far out toward the middle did you check?

There were 4 people on ice yesterday  it is about 90 percent good I'm going today  I will post conditions

Breakheart was ok near ramp 3" but I went down to the back side near cove it was less than 3" in spots and in the cove looked verry thin Across from ramp was not good in my opinion open 2 days ago there were aprox 9 people out Inc myself but we were all bunched up.

Anybody get out today? Came out to my mother-in-law's in Massachusetts with the family. Hit Barton's Cove with pike shiners for 4 hours and got the SKUNK.

Yup... 30 bass, 30, pickerel, and about 25 crappie. Non stop action!

Yes sir Flatland! About half of that was jigging ballbag. Wind was far less than expected and snow never came around.
