Anyone looking for some camofish, these are alittle bigger than 6" though.

or something like this

And I'm sorry to say to catch some camofish, it will be a drive. But, if anyone would like to come over my way I would be glad to take anyone out, the hotel rates are cheaper in the winter around here, just don't have room to put anyone up.  :D
iceBB- I like your walleyes much better, can't wait to see some this year.

we're on normally around Christmas but for sure by mid-jan. but I did much better last year into Feb. and first half of March. what kind of fishin you looking for. eating or C&R. you guys have a long ice season, probably 2 months longer than us. I have a wacky work schedule too, mostly get out during the middle of the week, I like that cause everyone else is working M-F and I'm out on the lake with minimal people around.

you have not much time for your sport.normaly here we're fishing from mid-december to the end of april.we are very lucky.we looking for the walleye mostly and we are eating the smallest one.we take pike and give it to people who like it.at night we take lotte(don't know how translate)it's like eel with long tale.augly fish but delicious in fish'n'chip.

resalut jocco,

Hey Icebigboy

I am writing in english so everybody can understand.Yeah for locating walleye in the spring try looking for a long point near a bay that has some deep water nearby. I know this sounds like a lot of things to look for but it will give you a lot of different structure to fish in one area. During the sunny days they can be in the deep part of the lake, at dusk and dawn they will probably go shallower to feed. The Rapala are really good on clear water.

I am originally from Sturgeon Falls Ontario but I am moving to the Sherbrooke area.

Jcco, I am interested to get more info about that tournament. Its 50$/hole? are you only allowed one hole? When does it start? I know where alexendria is I pass the turn off on the 401 when I go to Sherbrooke from Hamilton, On

well,I'm not sure what do you mean by targeting (I'm not to much bilingual)but here we catch burbot only at night.you have to know that the burbot go deep water in the day(up to 100 feets and you can catch them at day) and move all the range of water at night.we take them with dead smelt.we use big hook because they swallows it into stomach.sometime they bite two bait at the same time.it's a ravenous fish.
do you eat that kind of fish?
it is very delicious.(and very ugly)

this winter we gonna try perch fishing and i will certainly needs tips.  ;)

sorry icebigboy by target i mean fish for them on purpose thanks for the tips. Now if you want tips on perch i got a lot 1st thing is light line 4-6lb line and small jigs 1/16oz even 1/32oz  with frozen salted minnows for bait if they are biting like crazy i like to cut a 2.5 inch stip of belly meat from the perch and put that on the jig works very good and stays on the hook good.I catch a lot of perch in 10 -12 feet of water and very close to bottom they are a lot of fun. ;D I agree burbot are kind of ugly but you are right they are very tasty!!

Icebigboy the yellow perch is delicious I think better than walleye!!!filet the same way as walleye and cook the filets just like you would with a walleye. If you don't have shiner minnows smelt should work just use a small peice like just the head. Then when you catch a perch pop his eye out and use that for bait sounds gross but she works!! or cut a thin strip of belly meat off the perch. If you can't find 1/16 oz or 1/32 oz a 1/8 oz jig will work too I'll look for some good jigs and send you the web-site :)
