Do any of you use deep fryers?  Are you happy with them?  If so, which is the one to get?

Got one from the wife for my b-day. LOVE it, have had a bunch of fish and chicken fried up this summer. Cannot wait for ice to get more perch for another big fry party!!!

I also have a Fry Daddy that has worked well.  One thing to consider is how big of one to get.  If you only plan on small meals, do not get one too big.  Once you fry fish in the oil, the oil will become contaminated and evey thing will taste like fish.  I have heard that frying potatoes after the fish will take the fish flavor out, but have not tried this.  Once you have one, you will go in spurts where you fry everything in sight till you are sick of fried food.  Plan on gaining a few pounds.  :)

We just purchased a new Rival deep fryer today. Tried it out tonight on a batch of crappie fillets  ;) It worked great, no grease splatter all over and with the filters, it cuts down on the grease oder in the house.  8)
It is a Rival Pro Deep Fryer CZF725 at Wal-Mart

Nothing beats fish-n-chips.  Which is better, skin on or off?

When you guys are frying your fish you gotta make ONION RINGS. get a nice beer batter recipe and put alot of seasoning salt on it and enjoy. They are awesome with fresh perch.

I use my turkey fryer that came with a smaller pot and basket for fish...as for question number 2, skin off usually, as the wife does not like it on...

I have three different size fryers and use them accordingly.  I have a Dazey that came with a crock and doubles as a slow cooker.  One is a small fry daddy. And the other is a Turkey deep fryer.  I use the small fry daddy the most.  Picked all of them up at rummage sales, and they all work great.  Just my $.02.
