Whats the latest date that you've had ice?????????

As far as I can remember there has always been ice up till the first part of April.  So far so good.  But this year I think it may last until May if it keeps going the way it is....there is still 30+ inches of ice....its not the best ice ever but it is still safe enough to drive on with a car/truck.  I cant wait to get back out there and get some more slabbers and bull sunfish before its all gone.

I'm from the lower peninsula of michigan and I'm usually done by the 3rd week of March. I moved up to the upper for school and its been a phenominal year of ice. Started ice fishing on November 28 and expect there to be safe ice for at least another 2 weekends. Most of the lakes have around 25-30" of ice. We still had our  trucks out on the ice last weekend and the shore ice was in great shape.

I can rememeber a Memorial day back in the 70's that we still had ice on the ponds memorial day weekend.
I remember loseing my friends fathers spud trying to punch a hole in the ice.....  Never did find it .

we may set a record this year, went out today we still have over 20+ inches..  I bet we will have safe ice till mid april on some lakes and ponds, this of course depends on if we get heavy rain or a freak 70 degree day!

When it goes it does seem to go really quick!

Last year it was gone by no more than three days when it started on my lake.

im thinking that as long as the warm weather and the rain stay away there will be ice for a while.....thinkin about going out tomorrow will post and let you know how i do...........

I've seen ice into mid may but usually is all gone by mid april.

The pond I fish had 15 inches easter sunday I'll find out how much is left in the morning

went out yesterday and popped a couple holes.......still got around 30 inches.......gonna wait about 2 wks i think so that there is only around a foot and then get out and hammer the big  bulls and the monster slabbers....

trout lake right near lake george had about 2 feet(47 turns with hand auger  ) left on it last week which seems like a ton for this area being this late

Still have over 2' here... depending on how much rain we get this week we should still have safe ice for at least another week or two...

3 1/2 to 4 feet and still making ice it got down to -32C last night.
