Wrap it up

Well after a terrible hunting season (somewhat salvaged) and a terrible ice fishing season (meh) Im ready to pack up my gear until next year.  Not that I dont want to get out on the ice, but with my work schedule and other things, Im tied up the next two weeks.  By then its not likely to have safe ice within a reasonable drive.  Guess ill start practicing my turkey calls...

I think im with you!! Im just sooooooo sick of cleaning fish!!! Fishin has been great!! Great year as far as huntin and fishin goes!! I HAVE to make it back out smelt fishing a couple times, other than that im gonna start fishin the steelies.

I am not completely done yet but I am nearing the end.  I too will be preacting the turkey calss and heading out for a shed hunt or two.  They are just starting ti find them around here.  Trout season is near and can not wait to get the boy out there this year.

yepper this week(50 degrees & rain ) could be the end of things... :( :( time to look at the fly rod & fly boxes..... ::) ::) ::) ::)

50 degress here right now,its going to rain for 2 days,guess its time to put the tip ups away, Wish I could say its been a good year,wasn't much ice around here.

this weekend will be my last. I will pack up all of my gear and put it away for the season. I already am getting buck fever again so we will have to see what happens

soon time to start shed hunting and scouting for next year... about 3/4 of the time i spend spring gobbler hunting Im really scouting for archery season

yup, i already took my first walk looking for sheds today, only about 20 minutes worth. I know its still a little early but some of them have already fallen

plannin on checkin em out soon... ive never found a shed, but ive been with buddies when they found em... seems ive been lookin a little late in the season... but either way its good to be in the woods

This sunday will be my last for the ice. If it holds up till then  ??? Then its time to get out the trout gear and get ready for April. Then its turkey time in May  ;D

Below freezing again this week next time out I will need the six inch auger extension it should be the end of the month here to get the Harley out.

Today was my last day out the ice was leaving under our feet literally.  We left the ice 5 minutes befor ethe rain started.  We might get out in mass a few more times but the hour and half ride each way is a killer on the gas and my body so I doubt here will be to many more trips.  It was a great day we caught some great pike and a half dozen perch.  I need to figur out how to white out the backrounds before I can post them though. It will be a little while.  I can not complain considering we started before christmas and ended in march.  I can not remeber the last year I had that many months here in RI to ice fish.  I need to go I have to go sulk for a little while. :( :( :( :( :(

looks like a couple more weeks here but I'm already on the Dec. ice...ya i figure next year will be back to normal   I will at least keep the fingers crossed because this year was tough with the ice coming and going and then almost again then a fast freeze and heavy snow made for a tough year. Plus I'm a pilkki  addict I will be ice fishing year round  ;D
