I think it would work- The transducers are either 4 or 8 pin, and there is an adapter if your unit has the wrong one. The adapter is more expensive than you would think, so if you can get a transducer that does not need one, it might be cheaper.

I just got off the phone with Garmin customer support and he did say that the video is misleading and that the Dual Beam IF DOES NOT have CHIRP capability.  He strongly recommended the GT8HW-IF if CHIRP was important to me.

Just a heads up to folks discussing and pondering purchasing the IF dual beam transducer as I was.
