Was gonna say, $1.30 per gallon is an amazing price!
I just paid $1100 for just over 1500 liters (about 400 gallons (1,680 #'s)) for the house.Works out to $2.77 Canadian ($2.08 US) a gallon.@ 4.2 pounds per gallon that works out to $0.66 CAD or $0.495 US per pound. Plus I live in the Arctic!!!!
Wow, that's a big load of fuel, Dave. For the season or will you need a few refills? Is there a chance you have more gravity in NWT ? Or, it could be Wikipedia hasn't done the math or needs adjust their scale, being 0.09 pounds less than your gallon, at 4.11 #/gal., hm ? No worries, I'm sure you received good value.
Will need to fill up once more in late Feb or early March.
Well worth it Dave ~ Being where you get great ice is priceless.
I use about $2000 worth of propane a year. Works out to about $167/mo. I don't have AC so don't have that expense (would only really need it for a week or two a year anyway). Pretty sure I'm pretty close to what a lot of people much further South pay for heat and AC per year. When I was living in Ft. Smith on the South side of Great Slave I was heating with oil. That was freaking expensive!!!!Was costing up to $600/mo during the coldest months. Jan and Feb were $1200 for heat. Here I get 1/2 Oct-late Feb early March for the same $$$$$.
