See my steering cable has made its way from Everett Washington to Elk Mountain WY.  So could see it by Friday.

Got an offer on the house, I am tempted to take but will sleep on it for now.

Good evening enjoyed another day of lower temperature and humidity. CDC has recommended people in my area of New York wear face masks while inside public places as the Covid-19 infection rate has risen in my and neighboring counties currently our Governor is leaving it up to town or county governments to put any mandates in place. He says it would take action by the state legislature to restore the emergency powers he had earlier in the pandemic. Also he is currently occupied with trying to stay in office after our attorney general released her investigative report yesterday. This probably made the national news NYC's mayor issued a mandate stating that anyone who visit a gym, movie theater attends a concert or wants to dine inside a restaurant must show proof of vaccination starting on August 16TH with enforcement of the mandate starting on Sept.13TH which is the starting date of NYC's public school year. It will be interesting to see how well this is received by the public and enforced.
Eddie I'm sure the recent weather has made it easier to work outside. I hope you were able to help your brother resolve his car problem. Have fun working on the lawn mower engine to find the problem and source of the noise you heard while mowing.
OldSailor good to hear the operation went well and you are doing some walking .
Ice Wanderer good to read your MIL enjoyed the boat ride. Personally have had mixed results with the Gulp line of products their power bait has help me catch panfish and trout while the plastics have not yielded me good results.
Hunts2long may Lindsay and you have located some walleyes today and put some in the boat.
Whopper Stopper ggod that your shack is not to long of a drive from your home depending on weather and traffic conditions.
IFF good work on the storage shed nice that you had a helper.  Congratulations on already getting an offer on your house.
Wallyworld congratulations to both of you.   on a good day of fishing. The walleye you are holding and the lake trout are good sized fish did you get a length measure ment and weight of each fish. May the two of you have hit lake Erie while the bite is on best to you tomorrow.

Have a good night. Best to all with fishing plans.

Eddie
Had a buddy up from back East and got him out a couple of times.
The last day I managed to get him his PB laker.
;D

While I was out at the cabin I read an article about a float plane crash in the NWT South of me.
Found out today my boss, his wife and 2 kids were on the plane. Everyone got out and are OK, just some bruises and shaken nerves.

               Good morning ER's,
It's 58* and clear here on my hill, another nice day ahead. ::)
OS.........I'm glad the surgery went well and you walked out of the hospital with the help of a walker. :flex: The discomfort
pain should be better than the other pain you were going through.
Wally.....Good job out on Lake Erie, the weather looks perfect, and so do the fish. :flex:
Dave ....Good going getting your friend on to his PB. The weather up there looks nice and clear.
Marv......I bet you know the way to :The Shack" so well, you could do it blindfolded. :woot:
Eddie.....I'm glad the job is going well and it's not to hot for you guys. :flex:
Steve.....You're right on about the governor being preoccupied with the harassment case against him. He won't go willingly.
I went down to get a manlift, but they were all gone. I was thinking of a tow behind boom lift but the guy had a scissor lift with all terrain
wheels coming in today and I could get it on Friday. Later in the day the lift came in a day earl, so Im getting it today. It is less $$$ than the boom
lift but I have to pay for the delivery which brings it back up close to a boom lift. So I'll be starting my pressure washing today. I have it till Wednesday.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work r out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning Jeff, Morning Everyone,
57* under partly cloudy skies again this am, high of 75 today.

OS…glad the surgery went well and hope the meds took care of the pain relief! Best wishes to you on the recovery…and no running in the hallways!   ;D
Jeff…glad everyone had a good day out on the water! Good luck with the lift and pressure washing today!
OG…hope all is well and that wrong turn you made leading to the casino put some extra $$$ in your wallet!
Dave…thanks for sharing the picture, awesome job getting your buddy on his PB laker, great looking fish!   Glad to read everyone escaped the plane crash  with minimal injuries, wow!
Steve…I hope the days of our illustrious Governor are over with sooner than later and he gets what he deserves. Understand if he gets impeached or resigns, our Lt. Governor would step in and be the first woman Governor in our state’s history….I like history!!  ;D
Bud…glad you had a helper getting things sorted out, sounds like you’re making good progress!   Best of luck with the decision on the offer, I know most houses around here are selling for above asking prices…something to consider and not cut yourself short.
Wally…Congratulations to you and Mr.WW, beautiful job!! Best of luck with a repeat today, will be looking forward to your report!
H2…hope you and Lindsay found a few walleyes yesterday!
Marv…granddaughter enjoyed the video, loves all the spots on Bambi, lol.

Didn’t get much accomplished with the tractor yesterday afternoon, was just whooped. Did I mention before these new work hours suck… ;D. Will try again today.
Time catching up to me again this am…Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

56* and clear.
OS, good to hear that all went well. They get you up and around pretty quick. Take it easy.
Drifter, you are a good guide. Glad everyone's OK from the float plane accident.
WW, way to go on the fish. Those are some nice walleyes.
Lindsay and I did pretty good but nothing like those...lol, 11 walleyes, 2 perch and 3 rock bass and she let me catch about half of them. Even had a couple doubles. Only 3 walleyes were keepers and we released them all. Found some on one of my best spot that hasn't held fish in a couple years, hope that is a good sign. Funny how one day can be a bust and the next so much better.
Hope everyone has a safe day....h2l

Good morning everyone

71 and sticky here. There  was rain to the north and rain to the south but we remain in a void :%$#!:

Dave....Congrats on a good outing, I bet your buddy was pretty excited

IW.... Good luck with the pressure washing, hope it goes well. The lifts sure beat scaffolding.

WW....Team Wally World continues to hammer away. Congratulations

h2l...Congratulations to you and Lindsay on a good outing also

OS....Hope the meds are keeping any discomfort at a minimum

Eddie.....When the tank is empty at the end of the day the best medicine is an easy chair and an ice cold Ernie. I am glad your granddaughter likes the videos. Things have been quiet out there the last couple days.

This morning on my walk I saw two different batches of raccoons cross the road in front of me. One had six small ones the other seven, I sure hope they don't find my corn scattering.

A couple of errands today and maybe an hour at the range. My list is about caught up.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Question does making coffee count for boiling water ???, got a msg from the city that E-Coli was found in my water system, and need to boil drinking water until further notice, or drink bottled water.  Hum, ???

Got the most recent posts read, all seems well, so I best get at my problem again.

Take care all.

Landed 8 lost 3, 12 perch

Tomorrow’s another day, fingers crossed we can find a few more willing to bite before heading for home.

Good evening the nice nice weather continues here in South Eastern NY. believe it is supposed to start warming up over the weekend and into next week. It appears i spoke to soon about neighboring apartment under going a renovation nothing to bad but noisier today then earlier in the week.Besides different stories about NY.'s Governor in my local newspaper today there was one among the sports pages about a deer disease know as EHD being responsible for deer deaths in different Hudson river valley counties. EHD (Epizootic Hemorrhadic disease) is transmitted by biting midges (No-see-ums) and not spread from deer to deer or deer to humans .once infected most deer die within 36 hours outbreaks of the disease are most common in late Summer-early Fall when midges are more abundant .I will modify my post latter with the name of article and link to newspapers website hopefully the article is viewable to everyone and not just subscribers.
Drifter good to hear your boss his family suffered no major injuries in the float plane crash or loss of life.    Nice work getting your friend into the lake trout congratulations to him on catching his personal best lake trout.   Thank you for posting the photo.
Ice Wanderer glad the scissor lift arrived early at the rental place and that they deliver it to your location allowing you to start the project today. May you have no problems with the pressure washing and staining and be able to present a freshly stained home to your wife upon her return from Vermont.
Eddie I know the state assembly is conducting their own investigation of the Governor and asked the independent firm doing the investigation to sped up their work believe they are giving the Governor until Aug.13 Th to resign or impeachment process will start. Hope you had more energy after work today to work on the lawn mower.
Hunts2long congratulations to you and Lindsay.  glad you found walleyes back at a spot that has produced well for you over the years.  It is funny how quickly the bite can change on a body of water even when weather conditions are the same something has the fish in a less active feeding pattern.
Whopper Stopper may the raccoon families not become regular visitors to your yard.
IFF think you are safe drinking the coffee may the boil water advisory not last to many days.
Wallyworld think you hit lake Erie at the right time. Congratulations to the two of you on another good day of fishing.   Nice size to some of the walleyes in your photo also handy that the launch has bagged ice on location. May tomorrow also be a productive day of fishing.
Raquettedacker may some of the moms in green house/houses have sold, good that you have had a period of cooler weather to work in so far this week.
OldSailor may you be doing well and medication helping with any post surgery pain.

Have a good night stay safe and healthy.

              Good morning ER's,
It's 63 and clear here on my hill. ::)
Steve........Hopefully the noise from the renovation didn't keeping you from getting some sleep.
Dave.........I'm glad your boss and his family escaped injury from the plane crash.
H2l...........I'm glad Lindsay let you catch some fish. Congratulations on a good day. :flex:
Wally........Wow, You and Mr. WW had a great day, keep it up.
Marv.........It depends how far the racoons were from your home if they make it to yours. If they do, you'll be busy trapping
              and relocating.
Eddie........I remember when I worked heavy construction and got laid off in the winter, it took a couple of weeks to get back in the swing
of things. Maybe after this week you won't feel so tired after work.
Yesterday the man lift arrived around 8 am, I got started pressure washing around 8:30 and got the driveway side done around 1:30, I moved
it to the other gable end and started, I knocked off at 4:30 The deck on the lift is suppose to extend out but I couldn't find out how to do that. I'll have
to call the rental place this morning.
                      Back at it today.
I hope everyone has a good Froiday either at work or out. Stat Safe and healthy.

Good Morning Jeff, Morning Everyone,
Happy Friday!  Clear and 57* this am, warming up to low 80’s here today.

Jeff…the pressure washing looks terrific, excellent job!!  Nice weather for your project, hope everything goes well today!
Steve…thanks for sharing the news article’s, don’t believe I’ve ever heard of the EHD before with the deer…will have to look into that.
Wally…wow, what a fine looking catch of walleyes!!  So glad this trip to Erie is paying off with the gold for you and Mr.WW…CONGRATULATIONS!!  Hope today’s trip is a three peat, best of luck out there!!
Bud…hope the water issue is only short term.  :woot:
Marv…hopefully the raccoons don’t find their way to your yard.  ;D  I had 2 hen turkeys and what looked like about 15 poults cross the road on my way into work yesterday morning.
H2…congratulations to you and Lindsay on your trip! Nice to hear your old spots are productive again!

We had the grandchildren over for a few hours yesterday afternoon/evening, so didn’t have time to do anything with my tractor yesterday….and the grass keeps growing, lol. Pulled some cauliflower, celery and cucumbers from the garden yesterday….see a few tomatoes just about ready finally.
The brick job is going well, we finished off two smaller walls again yesterday…it’s starting to look like something now. Will have to snap some pictures today.
Hope everyone has a good wrap to the week today……Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning IW, Eddie! Good morning everyone

69, heading into the mid 80's again. Last night we finally received .04" of rain

IW.... Good job on the pressure washing, the lift looks like the ticket

Eddie....Sounds like the garden is starting to pay off  I will have to check the camera card today and see if there are any videos worth posting.

WW.... Hope your arms and back aren't sore from yesterdays harvest. Best of luck if going into round 2 today

I am skipping the walk today not sure what I will find to do.

Yesterday at the gun range the manager found me and said he has 4 trees to take down. I was wondering if he had more to do.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy

Mid 60's to start the day. I sounds like more is headed back for t h next week with highs pushing 90*.

Eddie We have had EHD in the deer in Michigan for a long time. I have not heard anything about it so far this year but it is still early.

Marv Any nuisance critters here have to be dispatched on site. Moving them just moves a problem some where else. I caught a skunk in a trap set for chipmunks one time. I hooked the chain and carried it across the road to shoot it. I thought a woman driving down the road was going to drive into the woods when she saw me carrying it across the road.

IW What a difference the power washing made to the siding. Good luck getting the rest of the house done and new stain put on.

Drifter It was good to here that no one got seriously hurt when the float plane flipped.
When my brother was stationed in VA before he transferred to Fairbanks in the Army he had no respect for those flying small planes. He had to go with a Sikorski Crain helicopter to pick up the remains of crashed planes a few times. Even the deceased at times off the side of a mountain.
After he was in Alaska for a while he gained great respect for the bush pilots.

I did not get far with my doctor appointment. He could not inject my knee as they did not know what the PA had used a couple of months ago. The could not open the disk of  the x-rays they took. I will be going back in a few weeks.

The good thing was I had time to go to a trapper friends house. He was not home but I spent an hour talking with his wife. She did not recognize me until I said you do not recognize the guy that slept n your couch when Ed and I worked the two day fur sale. It saved me a 70 mile round trip.

We had the Senior Center annual meeting yesterday. We were both elected back on the board. The manger of the center and her daughter tried to run the meeting a usual. The do not want to take what the wife got from the County Health Department Administrator as how things Can be done. The wife just left for the Center. If she has trouble with those two she will resign. I will be right behind her.

Jeff looking good,  mission accomplished

Eddie water problem out of the way my water is furnished by Denver, not by the city of Englewood, that does serve part of my city of Centennial.

had invite to fish this morning but passed, arranging things to put out/advertise for sale has to be front and center.

Good afternoon-(late morning to IFF) ,not sure how accurite the thermometer on my balcony is so put temperature currently at around eighty degrees with light wind and a few clouds in the sky. Some workers fom verizon were here earlier cable running down side of my building now covered over and electrical box installed still have not heard when service will start. Took a quick at the local news marijuana industry continues to grow here in south Eastern NY. the city of Ellenville (Ulster county0 is in negotiations with a company that wants to move into the former Schrade cutlery  property.
Ice Wanderer nice job with the pressure washing hope the rental company was able to tell you how to extended the deck on scissor lift. May you finish the side of house opposite of driveway today and the nice weather continue so staining can be done leaving only the back deck side of house to be done before project is completed.
Eddie I also was not familiar with EHD sorry for not providing link to my local newspaper last night will leave at end of this post. Glad you are starting to harvest from your garden. You may have to call on your sons and ask them to come over with their mower to gut the grass.
Whopper Stopper good to read you received some needed rain. I was wondering when you would be doing some tree work at the gun range to pay off the yearly fees.
Hunts2long may your daughter Lindsay and others in her school district not be doing to much additional work before school opens for this education year. I see the Governor and State Health commissioner are leaving it up to local public school districts to decide if students and staff should wear face masks.
Tomturkey sorry to hear the new Ortho. doctor could not give you the knee injection and there was trouble viewing your x-rays may things go better at your next appointment. Glad your trapper friend's wife finally recognized you and that you could spend some time visiting with her . Best to you and Mrs.Turkey with being back on the board of directors at the Senior Center.
IFF happy to hear you will not have to boil your drinking water. best to you with what i assume will be a yard sale of some of the items you have accumulated over the years.

Have a safe and good Friday.   to all interested in the EHD story here is a link to my local newspaper's website .ww.recordonline.com use search to find story. I found three articles two from last Fall.(Epizootic Hemorrhagic disease in Deer sept.20,2020 by Heather Yakin ,same  date story by Bill Conners and yesterday's story by mike Randall "Deer disease kills two deer in esopus after recent outbreak in Hudson Valley" ) I also assume there is information on the NY. DEC's website   ww.dec.ny.gov

JEEBAS!!!!
2021 is the year of the bear up here!!!
Now there's a sow and cub wandering around town just up the road from me.
Seems ma and kidlet got separated and now we have to worry about getting in between them.
Hopefully they move on or more dead bears will be the result.

Must be the heat bringing them out of the woods...
Dave i looked up web cams in yellow knife and the ones I found were just loops.
Are there any live streaming cams we can see?

Not sure. I know there is a Northern Lights cam but it isn't operational until later this month.
Not enough darkness yet. It turns on after dark and runs until the morning daily. It refreshes every 15 or 20 seconds.

Good evening,it appears the cooler temperatures and lower humidity are leaving my area today's high temperature was around 85 and higher humidity level. Weather guessers calling for highs in the upper eighties and a muggy weekend with chance of pop-up thunderstorms.
drifter may the sow and her cub find each other before anyone is injured or killed by the sow. Hopefully they move out of town and back into surrounding woods before game wardens or town police have to take action against the bears.

Stay healthy and safe.

               Good morning ER's,
It's 63* and clearing, we had a brief shower around 3:30 this morning. ::)
Eddie........I hope you get a chance to work on the lawn tractor today. Grass is growing as you read this. LOL :roflmao:
Dave........I hope the two separated bears find each other.
Marv.........I'm glad you received some rain but .04" is just a teaser, I hope you get more.
H2l...........Any fishing plans coming up? ???
Tom..........It's too bad that the appointment didn't result in getting any injections. Maybe he should have ordered an MRI.
Steve........I think the higher temps and humidity will be short lived Of course it is August and that's the time we get that type of weather.
Yesterday, I finished pressure washing the other gable end and then moved to the back of the house, unfortunately I have a deck on the back and
could only get a portion pressure washed with the scissor lift. the rest will have to be done of a ladder or scaffolding. Then I moved back to the driveway
side and started staining. Back at it today. I want to get down low enough so if I have to, I can get done off a ladder. Then move to the other gable end
and start staining. The weather call for chance of showers till Tuesday, The lift goes back Wednesday. And the lift weighs 7000 lbs and I don't know how
it will react to wet ground.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

               IW

IW Great job on the house. Hope you can make the deadline

I will have to check back later to see what everyone is doing today.

Good Morning Jeff, Marv,  Morning Everyone,
Partly cloudy skies and 65*, mid 80’s for a high today.

Jeff…thanks for sharing the picture, the staining looks great!! Another beautiful day for your project today, hopefully the weather cooperates and you can finish everything up by the return date on your lift.      Will be playing mechanic here shortly after breakfast.  ;D
Steve…the heat and humidity kicked in pretty good yesterday right after our lunch break…did I mention hard hats suck?   ;D. Thanks for sharing the links, will check them out.
Dave…hope the bears paired up and moved along before there was a problem.
Bud…good deal on the water issue being resolved, hope everything is going well with the moving project.
Tom…sorry the Dr. visit didn’t workout as you had hoped, best wishes for you on the next visit. Congrats to you and your wife on being elected to the senior center board, hope everything works out with the rest of the members.
Marv…starting to get a few things to harvest in the garden, but it’s been a screwed up season for my garden this year, lol. Hope the tree jobs at the range go smoothly.   Glad you’re finally getting some much needed rain!
Wally…hope you and Mr.WW had safe travels home and crushed those walleyes again, will be looking forward to your report!

Off to tear down the tractor engine this morning and see if I can find what’s broken. Will check in later to see how everyone is doing…Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!
