PMs?

How many Private Messages do you guys get every week, if any? I know the mods must be getting a ton, but how about everyone else? I've been get about 20 a week recently.  :o
Speaking of PMs, I've gotta clean out my box... ::)

sometimes 0 other times about 15 depends on if I am catching a lot of fish or not. If I don't post my catch or if I dont' catch then no PM, if I am slamming them a pile of em!! :o ;D :D ;) :)

A couple a week. Some weeks more. Some less. Luckily, no flames. I have had at least 3 times that my box was full and noone could get aholt of me. Ooooops... :whistle:

I send them when I choose to be specific with some part of a members post that I think may not intrest all.
I recieve them pretty much for the same reason on an average of a few per week.
Once in a while a PM comes in the form of a Direct "BLAST" for some thing or the way I said it. This too is cool and sometimes we all can be over rambunctious.
They are a good method for keeping things a bit more personal as well as discussing particulars not necessarily of intrest to all.
I enjoy the feature and clean my box immediately after reading them.
Wish some members would be a bit more specific in their Profiles about self!
It is nice to look to see where you hail from to get an idea of where and what you might fish for and what age group you may be in. I see most of our members come from N/A like it has to be a big secret.

I agree. The profiles really are usefull to everyone. There's no point in replying a certain way sometimes if the person you're replying to is half way acroos the country.

How about when you have been having intelligent PM conversations with a member and you invite him to meet up some day on a favorite pond and then get a PM from the 12 year olds father wondering if your some kind of Perv.
With out certain info available it is sometimes not cool to correspond other then in the threads.

bigred, PM is a 'personal message'; also has been refered to as a 'back channel' message; same as an email, but through the IceShanty; typically used to talk about stuff that people might not want to post publicly in the Forums, but would share privately. You'll notice in the top right corner of the Ice Shanty window, it says

"Hey, bigredonice, you have 0 messages, 0 are new.
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts."

Click on the # messages section, and you'll see all your PM's. I bet you got a bunch.

Hey Pasquatch, you are probably right, since I did send him a PM, but then thought that if he doesn't really know what a PM is, he won't know where to look....I wonder how many PM's fill the inbox and then no more can be delivered?
