Title: A Definite Improvement
Post by: bogtrotter on Feb 25, 2023, 01:40 PM
Every year, for the past few years, I have tried getting out at least once per winter on Morewood Lake in Pittsfield.

By repute, it is supposed to have some impressive pike in there.

Personally, I've never had a flag there, although I have managed to jig up a good number of sunfish over the past few years.

I went down to Morewood today, and fished there from 10:30 AM to 1 PM.

It was overcast, snowing steadily and fairly cold (about 20 degrees) but calm.  There was about 8" of ice.

There was one other guy (a local) fishing there when I arrived, with a buddy to keep him company, who reported catching a small bass on a tip up shortly before I arrived.

As per usual, I did not have any flags (nor did my neighbor, who left a little before I did, while I was there), but i was able to catch a footlong football of a bass and an 11" perch jigging with a nightcrawler segment on a Swedish pimple.
