Nice to see some of you guy's were able to find some good  ice at the Sylvan Beach access  this past week.

I am sure there has not been anybody that was able to ice fish where I tried to fish a week and a half or so ago off the north shore. It was  very bad, weak ice there.

I see someone is out off of Sylvan Beach right now to close out the walleye season on Oneida Lake...kinda wish I was there....good luck to you all that are still out on the ice.

My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

Ditto. Looks like 1 guy out there in a little snow squall, but the wind is ripping that flag up on the Beach View cam.

Was me out there Tuesday and yesterday with a sled.  No problem going over the rocks or traveling on the ice.  Had about 16" of ice in 18 FOW on Tuesday, yesterday went deeper to 21' and had 31" of ice - measured.  Floating jumble ice beneath that.  No issues straight out and back.  Didn't venture off the traveled path.  Lots of pins, half dozen yellows (most small) and about 1/2 dozen whites.

31 inches seems a lot for this winter temps.  Could you have been over some old anchor ice that froze to the 16 inches in that spot ?

Any slush at the beach? Every place I have checked has a layer of slush and the ice under that is not exactly hard. Hopefully that slush freezes up with these colder temps.

I don't know how or when it formed but it was 31 inches of continuous ice.  It did not appear to be refrozen jumble ice.  There was loose, broken ice beneath it.  Did a huge sheet of ice slide underneath and fuse to the top layer?...I don't know.

Went out of Jewel today and fished in approx 18' of water straight out.  First 10 or 20 yards is refrozen slush about 4" thick.  Won't last long, but is over water that is shallow enough that the spud hit bottom.  After that refreeze area, the ice is better-not great, but better.  We were sitting on 18" of ice and snow.  About 10" was decent ice, the top 8 was snow, slush and refrozen slush.  The so called decent ice is still pretty soft.  Not telling anyone what's safe and what's not-just trying to give an accurate report.  Again, the 18" number was a measured number with a yardstick.

Nice job watching Cams-just joking-lol. Looked like a light East breeze-is there any open water at the West end for a potential wind blown debacle like a few years ago? That picture of the guys bringing a snowmobile in on a floating piece of ice was a classic. Snag or Filet probably still have that picture?

The shoreline is pretty tight after the last 2 nights. Hopefully that ice won't be moving around for a while.
