Hit the lake this am and landed on a school on my 3rd spot. Got a limit of eaters then experimented a bit with some new lures. There was 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ice with a few wind whipped bare spots. Be careful as the snow has covered up some of the cracks making them harder to see.  As soon as the sun got bright the bite died so I headed back to work. All in all not a bad am

Fishshack,
Never, I repeat NEVER, go back to work!! Clean/rearrange your tackle box, clean your guns, go for a drive...ANYTHING but going back to work!!!  :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Ha Hardwater- gotta pay for those buckeyes somehow.  Not sure if you guys saw this huge walleye on LOU. A huge Quinte eye. Said it was 18.5lbs and 33 inches.   Holy walleye!!!!

That's why we try to make that trip at least once a winter, hopes of that big girl at the end of your line. Got a few big ones there but not like that bruiser. Congrats for sure.
Headed for the East end of Oneida this weekend for some good times with some good people, hope the bite is on, if not oh well I'm on the ice.

Chaumont is producing some real hogs lately, same strain of Ontario eyes just a bit east. New state record could come from that area in the near future. 👍

Fished to the East side of Lewis Point today from 1 till dark. Started in 27 fow and caught 6 keeper perch and a bunch of walleye shorts. Moved in to 24 fow for final hour and took a several more shorts. Bigger marks would not bite. Easy drag and snow was melting away fast. Rain started on walk in.

Slot limit system, and good CPR ethics, and good genetics of course.. and probably an aggressive stocking program... you gotta have everyone on board.

That walleye is huge holy wahhh!!!

No. Chaumont all the way up through to the seaway in my area, tons and tons and tons of 10-14lb walleyes killed. But what can you say? Perfectly legal. No slot system.

I understand, I've killed many many big walleye over the years but not by choice.hard to get a paying customer to release a fish of a lifetime

Right. Especially when its perfectly legal. I cant say ive never kept a big one for the wall.. but when we come off the river and it was a really good night, and you see a dad/son team and they have two 10 pound walleyes, a 9 pounder, a couple 8 pounders, and a 7 pounder all frozen in the sled, its like ouch :-\... BUT, perfectly legal. Lol im done blatting! Neat topic to me..

they had been saying that about Oswego since the 70's and the state record came from mastic  lake . I'm sure a monster will come out of  Ontario ... Canada's record is 22 lbs and that was caught in the niagra river .....that fish could  easily have been caught on the US side
