Does anyone know what you are supposed to do if you catch a tagged fish? I've never caught one till yesterday. We were laker fishing and we caught one. All we did was measure it weigh it and release it. We're we supposed to do something else?

massNtrash,
if you give me the tag number I can relay the details on this fish.  I have been tagging all of the fish we capture and release on Boulder for a number of years and have compiled a pretty interesting data set on growth, harvest, movements, etc.

thanks,

I caught a rainbow out of the Laramie river in 1975 and sent the tag to the game and fish and I got back report on when it was tagged, its size and were it was from. The fish had only grown 2 inches in 3 years and I caught the fish within 200 yards of were it was originally tagged.

I caught 2 tagged walleye in ND last year. One was a $100.00 reward, The other was just info. For the $100.00 I had to send in the tag as proof. It was SD that was keeping track.
