Its about that time I start getting really excited for the 2 hour drive to onieda to hit early ice. This will be my 7th season coming out I think. If any advice I can give for the guys comming from a long ways or new comers. STUDY THIS THREAD. Like home work study it. Look through the archives and study it. Everything you need is right here. Dont waste time asking questions. It's easier to to search back and read. Baits, depths, location, rigging, it's all right available. Hardest part for me is narrowing down locations. Once I find then I can usually manage to get them to fire.

Might have to incorporate the open house into a xmas shopping trip. Can't seem to put my hands on my jigging rap box, so I'm starting from zero. Good time to stock up on the "must have sizes and colors". Thanks for the heads up F&R!

It is hard to believe that it is almost time for ice? I'm not done with the boat yet or done chasing deer for that matter!

I don't see any major cool downs in the forecast so it's gonna be a while.

Well....my pond is froze over, probably not safe though. Fished a small State owned pond December 13th last year. One thing is certain, the weather WILL change. Reeleyz you must be thinking ice fishing if you're here! Lol....

Goon boy and myself took a drive to check some small water off the beaten path , we didn’t find any safe ice , did get on but the spud fell through ,🤪
