Me too, I think the bay needed this snow. When I walked passed John and drilled a hole he said a herd of gills went by fast... Too crunchy. I ended up with 6 seeds ..... not great but a dinner. Still can't believe he got that burbot there .......

My last 5-6 trips on Oneida I've only been averaging 1 keeper eye and a dozen or so perch, that's not setting the world on fire by any means, atleast now we can move a little a try too find em. Been a bummer out there in the deep snow and thick ice trying too be mobile.  I'll have fun just trying too get some fish and watch the weigh in too see who wins it.  I've only been on the ice 50% of a normal yr, I'm out of the loop....  good luck to everyone who fishes the derby.   ;D

Hey fellas it"s been weeks with tough conditions on some people's favorite lake and guys are going out of their way to put on a derby on a lake that in my opinion deserves a derby more than any other lake.Let's all support it and have a good time get to meet a bunch of good people support the local economy that welcomes us each week each season year after year.

Well let's see south bay/lewis point about 6-8" (tough to tell because of wind)
Snow on the ice 1/2 that. Wind will pack it down.  Well what's not already blown off or packed down

AW           Fished  out  of  south shore  launch  from  2 to 5   there was  not  much  snow  on  the  ice,it's rutted  up  in spots  but for  the  most  part  it  is  easy  sailing.Managed  5  keeper  perch  bunch of dinks and  a nice  smallie.Fised  between shak. point  and skak  shoals.

Some people can get away with stuff and others can't. ??? It's all good. We know the deal.
