I have never fished Oneida, but it's not all that far from home.  I'm seeing the current ice conditions, but I can't make it out until Monday (following 50 on Saturday and upper 40s sun/ mon).  Any chance for safe ice Monday (and where)?  DYING to get out, but not a strong winter swimmer.  Any suggestions or advice?  Thanks!!
I think you will be fine. We will be over 12" of ice by Friday.  Stay away from any streams. Check the condition page Sunday.

got out for an hour this afternoon. got 25 big gills, and droped a nice walleye at the hole. that was strange to catch a walleye in 6' of water with my gill gear. 12" of ice where i was. the wind let up this afternoon.   Sully...

If you are going on the weekend I go to Williams on the south shore and drive across the lake.

Hey everyone I was looking to go out of Constantia this coming Friday. Last weekend there was snow on the ice and fine for the snowmobile. I was wondering if there is still snow out there to bring a sled or if it is bare ice due to all the wind we have been having the past few days. Thanks and good fishing.

Guys need to read back several posts. You will see ice conditions, places to fish, places to park, how much snow is on the ice. Read back a page or two and all the answers are there.

After looking at the weather the ice would still be good its still below freezing every night so whatever does happen to melt in the few hours its warm enough will lock right back up come dusk and with 8" + of ice i wouldn't worry about anything but getting bait for monday good luck

Went out at Chapman about 1pm. Big crack with water in it couple feet wide about 20-30 yards from shore. People already out so I jumped it. When is this a bad Idea? Was frose up when I left about 4:30. I'm new at this so I'm a moron.

the lake level has dropped a little. that's why it'a cracking near the shoreline. got the same thing over here in muskrat bay also.

when it's a bad idea is late ice. the lake level rises, and the ice has room to move. the wind blows it around. you could go out with a 1' crack, and come back to a crack that's so wide you can't cross it. just ask snagger what it's like to be on moving ice :o :o.   Sully...

I crossed the crack out of Chapman's as well, no matter how many times I do this I never really get a comfy feeling. I always worry about it being to wide to cross when I go to get off. But I can't be to worried I suppose cuz I still cross them.

That's happened to me before late ice out of Cleveland. Opened up pretty quick and was a long walk east until I was able to get off. Since then stress cracks always bother me

It looks like it is snowing on the west end this morning. Any snow on the east end last night and this morning. Might be taking the sled now instead of the atv.

I just drove by Williams and there is only a dusting if that. Calling for t-1" tonight. I would think with the wind and temps tomorrow it won't last long.
