Do you find there is a point when the snow gets to deep for a 4x4 quad? Also wondering if you have any problems when there is no snow and you are dealing with pure ice. Do you stud or chain the tires? Sorry about all the questions but I've been wondering what the best vehicle would be quad vs snomobile.

I'm moving back to Mich (Davison) after being gone for the past 20yrs. Any tips on some fishing spots around the Flint and Lansing area that you would be willing to talk about?

I also live in Michigan (SE Dearborn) I use an Arctic Cat 300 4x4 with chains and have never been stopped on the lakes. Even with 1.5+ feet of slush, water and snow it was a slow go but I always make it out o the fishing grounds.

Here's what I currently use. Honda Foreman 4x4 ES. Great machine. I do plan on upgrading it a little this year with at least some milk crates to organize things a little better.

Nice machine...You can't kill a Honda. I've got a 03 Foreman with almost 4000mi on it and still goin strong

2006 Honda Foreman Rubicon. Picker it up off e-bay this summer. Cmae with the back rest, Winch , 5' cycle country plow and a warranty till 2010. I feel I got a hell of a deal on it

Furthest I've been with gear for hard-water fishing is 60 mi or so. That gets me just about anywhere I want to go around here. I can put 200lbs. of gear in the rear tandem seat. So with some careful packing, just about all I might need.
It's more for having fun buzzing the local area than anything else. Just another way for me to get my adrenalin going in he morning.

That front basket looks almost identical to the basket on the back of my '03 two up.....probably made by the same company....

bought it at a tag sale for 2 bucks last summer, and modified it to fit. Same with the rear rack..most likely it was a snowmobile rack.

Here's the bike I posted earlier, now with a 3-bucket rack, Auger Mount, and all my gear mounted on it, ready to hit the lake. Black box on the front is my tent, ropes and anchors, on the back rack I've got my tent poles, spud bar, and shovel. Front rack still isn't complete, hopefully tomorrow. I'm going to put a set of off-road driving lights in the front bumper since the light on the handlebar is covered.

Santa was really nice to me this year, I have been a good boy.... I have needed a new ride for ice fishing for years.... it has been almost 40 years since I have had a ice ride that had tracks on it( 68 Skeehorse)....Nor have I had a ATV, when it seemed everyone had one.. On this 11 th day of Christmas when I got up this was in my driveway.....

Here I am this afternoon out breaking her in for the first time, getting ready to ice fish here in North Dakota! -24F when we got off the ice tonight!
