Barnes Lk, Lapeer
« on: Jan 27, 2013, 06:50 PM »
I just got access to Barnes, and have been told it was a very good pike lake, with a pretty good population of panners. Can anybody tell me anything about Barnes? thanks

Now I hate to call BS but unless this is a private pond, you know 10 inch bluegills are master angler fish and pull those "all day long" anywhere even down south is almost unheard of. average 12-14"? You get a handful of state records every year too? Lets keep it real, I know we are all fisherman and chronic liars but  ;)

I have access to that lake as well, and a place to stay. Personally I don't think it's worth the drive just my 2 cents.

This was 10 yrs. ago, my buddies dad used to live on Barnes Lk. Rd. we icefished the north end by his house a good bit, we always caught plenty of gills and pumpkin seeds, nothing huge but I brought many dinners home from there.

I have been looking like crazy for a depth chart for the lake. I cannot find one anywhere

I was supposed to go to Barnes Lk today but had work. Barnes is a good pike lake, try to find the edge of weed lines and set up tip ups. Not so much for pan fish. Good Luck
