Probably. Or maybe I'm wrong. "LG lake" sure made it seem like lost grove lake. Never heard lake george called lake george lake before, but who knows. Anyhow, I'll be on lost grove lake and if you see me you are welcome to say Hi.. I'll point you to some fish if I am on them. As always, I'm not hard to spot in red.

Micah, send me a message on FB when you get a chance to chat for a minute...

I don't know.  fish are in there. it's just tough to get on anything outside of gills and crappies. when you get blinded by a baseball diamond size ball of shad turning on a bright sunny day it tells you all you need to know.

They do, but it got canceled this year due to poor ice conditions.  It was originally scheduled for Jan 31st.

I've all but given up on fishing at Lake George.

I have also stop going down there. Does anybody know why they do not plow the snow going down to the boat ramp. It was always a nice place to go and easy to get on the ice. All be safe!!!

I spoke with a guy who lives in illinois city who drives by the lake twice a day almost every day heading to and from work, or heading to town.   he said he's surpised if he even sees a hut out there.  even on the weekend.   either they don't plow it because it doesn't get the traffic or I think the state has turned its back on the lake from a fishing stand point.  there is very little structure and the gizzard shad pretty much rule the roost out there.  I've not seen a many gills over 8" or crappies over 11" in my lifetime of fishing it and I used to put in quite a bit of time.

Thanks hnd
A few years ago I use to go. Its a long drive for me but did good sometimes. I guess it is time to give it up down there. Not plowing it I guess the county save a dime in gas.

I agree with hnd. I have caught a lot of nice fish there about 15-20 years ago. I even caught a few nice walleyes there. Me and a buddy went there two years ago and found the cribbs. The most fish we saw on them were three 6" gills. Sad it could be a good lake if they would put in some structure and manage the shad.

I think most of the recent improvements at the lake have been at the hands of the Muskie Alliance group members:

Theres a rumor around this area that they might be stocking some Muskie in other local waters near by

I was a member of Muskies Inc in the QC. We stocked thousands of fingerling Muskies over the years there. What a dead sea. Need to drain it and start over.  They should have done it years ago. Never see it in my life time.

Maybe its time for the state to come in and take it over. I think this county is so from in debt that the lake is the farest thing from here mine's. That sad!!!
