I just got a kit to convert my Humminbird Helix 5 Chirp SI into an ice fishing sonar. It came with a XI-9-1521 ice ducer. I plugged it in, and I can hear the ducer clicking and working. But it won't show a bottom single (I'm haven't taken it on the water yet). It says it operates at 130 - 250 khz. My options for selecting the transducer are as follows:

Compact side imagine (what the unit came with that I use on my bass boat)
HB 50/200 Khz + 455 khz SI
HB 83/200 khz
HB 50/200 Khz
Generic Low Frequency
Generic Medium Frequency
Generic High Frequency
Generic 50/200 khz
Generic 83/200 khz

So I can't find 130 - 250 khz. But I hear the ducer working. I made sure it was compatible with my Helix 5 SI and it says it was.

Anyway in a nutshell, my question is how do I set up the transducer correctly so it works through the ice?

Oh one more thing. No matter what setting it's on, the frequency on my flasher screen mode of the unit says 175 - 225 khz

What generation is your Helix 5? Does it have the ice fishing mode on the menu?
Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to write here...but I doubt it.

I filled the tub full of water and it showed the depth and the bubbles from the faucet as marks. It's set on 175/225 now on Generic High Frequency.

Try using the generic 83-200 as that's what most ice ducer run on.. Worth a try
