1Lb propane tanks

Guys

Anyone been having a hard time getting these for our heaters. I ended up getting some Benzo camping propane ones at Lowe’s? 

anybody use these in there buddy heaters.  I will more then likely buy one of the 5lb refillable ones they sell.

And I’m not really going to buy the refillable 1lb set up. Just not worth it for me.

Walmart has been hit or miss. I have had good luck at BJ's. 6 pack for $21ish

Definitely try your local hardware store, while all the local sporting goods stores were sold out my local hardware store 5 minutes down the road had 15 bottles!

I just bought a case today at Walmart. They had plenty.
But yea alot of hardware stores have them tucked in a shelf somewhere. Many of the bait shops carry them as well, for a higher price of course. Berry's always has a decent supply.

Last Friday I struck out at 2 Tractor supplies and a hardware store before I found 2 cases of 12 at Walmart in Rindge... Got greedy and bought the 24 they had...

My wife said there were a bunch of the 1 lb cylinders at the BJ's in Nashua.

5 pound tanks are now available for $49 filling them will cost a few bucks. I will break even in one season and
limit the deposits in the land fill.

Mine will be at Home Depot sometime next week.  After spending $60 on a case of 1lbers it makes too much sense.  Cost like $12 at tractor supply to fill a 20lb tank.

There is a filter available too... to help protect your Heater when using a tank and hose set up... but it is still a way cheaper option that the disposable cylinders.

11lber for the win! Got a tall-skinny and a short-round that I use. Almost half the weight and size of the 20lbers. Tractor Supply is the cheapest propane I have found. Costs like 6 or 7 bucks to fill each one and they last as much as like 30 of the greenies!

Between the grill & my camper I have four 20 lb-ers so I just bring one of those with a hose & leave it outside of the pop-up.  Takes up more room but once it's on it's on.

As others have said get yourself a 5# or 10# tank and never look back. My local guy charges me $3 to fill my 5#. So far this season I have used it for a total of about 8 hours and still have plenty of propane from 1 fill. My collection of 1 pound tanks was starting to get looks from the neighbors. Between my large unwanted collection of empties, avoiding limited availability, comparable weight, and cost you cant beat a small refillable tank.

I've been refilling the same six 1 lb'ers for years with the adapter from harbor freight. If it overly cold like derby last year, I go through 3 tanks a day on high. I have a great holding place in my sled for them so it makes the most sense.

I "have a friend" who has been doing that as well and it's worked out great. This friend replaced all his cylinders this year though and rarely goes through more than a cylinder a day, but that was back when he had a smaller shack. He says that if you do refill them, make sure to set a timer for 10-15 minutes or else it may overfill and be bad news when it heats up and expands.

I have bumped into a  couple of places over the years (I have had a 5 lber for 30 years now) that were not sure how to price filling it, but most places can handle it, they just change the scale and fill it the same way.
