Title: Leader for lakers?
Post by: BrianF on Jan 01, 2006, 08:40 AM
Does anyone jigging for lakers use a leader? if so what type of knot and how long are you tying it? also how big is the main line?

I want to use a 12-14 pound mono with an 8 pound floro leader on my baitcaster setup.

I've used 15lb or so Fireline with a 6 foot 8lb mono leader before....Improved cinch knots connecting both lines to the swivel. It was fine, but I find no need, and I just use a solid 8lb mono line, works fine for me. Leaders for lakers are too much trouble for me, I go through them quickly with all the lure changing that I do when I am out there.
