Title: Bait set ups/laws
Post by: mt4410 on Nov 26, 2015, 10:58 AM
I have looked over the ifw page and am having difficulty locating the page that discusses bait trapping. I have found a few ponds nearby and want to throw a minnow trap in them to see if I can save myself some money at the bait shop but want to do it legal. Also, could some of you share pictures and details of your small bait set ups? Ideally I'd like to have no more than 60 on hand but want to be able to sustain then them for a while so when I get the time to go, all I bbs to do is grab and go. Thanks in advance.

Ive used a 10 gal aquarium with a waterfall filter for 20 years, works great for 200 bait.

Keep it in a cold location that wont be completely frozen and youre good to go. (Change out half the water/ clean bottom waste every other week or so)

The pond is smaller than 10 acres and town land so would my best bet be calling the town hall and seeing ownership of the little ponds? Then contact information or go at it? Its the beaten path, and in the woods a ways.
