I had heard that the main supplier got sick last year and was unable to provide them.... not sure about this year yet.
Anyone know the latin name for the species of batifish for Hunts.
I've heard them called blue nose around here .....
At least here in Vermont, what we call Hunts are Eastern Silvery Minnows (Hybognathus regis). https://vtfishandwildlife.com/sites/fishandwildlife/files/documents/Fish/baitfish/eastern-silvery-minnow.pdfI've seen them fairly regularly in Lake Champlain-only bait shops.
X3All I know is they out produce any other type of minnow I’ve used
Yep - and they last well too ..... 1 of the guys I fish with doesn't like them because they tangle his lines a few times because they are so active but I'll take that trade .....Definitely! I had pretzel knots in all 5 tip up leaders 1 night during a polar vortex.......I accused my fishing buddy of sabotage
