Decided to spool up the quick tip with 4lb nanofill. Anyone try it last year with the micro jigs?

Yep worked good, keep an eye on it fraying when it rubs the sides of the hole. I lost a nice gill to that last year but I think it was either 1 or 2 pound test I cant remember right now.

Nanofil worked great for me last me. I didn't spool a lot on last year to test it, byt this year it's going in all of my rods. I used the 3lb so I would have enough for slab crappies and still light enough to finesse jig big gills.

I decided on 4lb because I also wanted to use my QT on perch and trout. I'm wondering if the 4lb is light enough to maintain proper line tension with a mud bug etc....

  • Ditch the bobbers and get a 'tight line'

I tried 2,3 and 4 lb last year.  The 4 was a little stiff but held up decent.  The 2 is kinda poor...frays easy n breaks.  The 3 is my favorite but still frays so ya have to watch it.  I do like the limpness of it, ease of seeing and avoiding freezing.

I used the fluorosilk last season and really liked it.   Looking to try fireline this year.   A few of the guys I go fishing with everynow and then talk very highly about the fireline.   I use fluorocarbon in the summer and did very well.
