I never leave without my noodle rod with 2 lb test, another just like it, and a 4 lb spooled light action spring bobber rod for perch.

I bought a bunch of the guide series rod and reel combos from gander mtn. A couple years ago mostly all in U.L. satisfied with them so that's what will be on me

2 of the 3 rods that I am including are new ones,  however I believe that they will become an essential part of my ice rod arsenal.

(1)  Thorne bros 24 in sweetheart plus,  with a Jason Mitchell reel,  and 3lb Suffix ice magic line (new rod).

(2) Custom built 26 in rod built with St. Croix blank and components,  including spring bobber (new rod) still need to buy a reel for this rod.  Will spool up with either 3 - 4 lb test Suffix ice magic.

(3) St. Croix premier rod 24 in combo spooled with 2 lb test line.

I have never been a fan of the whippy rods,  just never felt like I was getting a good jigging rhythm,  so all of these rods are a little stiffer at the tip.

1) Thorne Bros Noodle Rod
2) St Croix Legend (im cheating here by bringing the M rod with a a bunch of spring bobber tips
3) Thorne Bros Quiverstick

I'd probably hide a marmish in my pocket as a stow away 4th rod

If you're talking "run & gun" I'll go 2 - 48" Ice Blues, Zebco Bill Dance Crappie 10 Series reels with 50' of ASSO Micron 3 in 2# over a full spool of Yellow 2# Stren. Have a 38" custom rod a friend made for me years ago, MedLt with an old Mitchell 308 reel, 3# Micron 3 over a full spool of Stren. "Scout/Bucket" sitting, 24" Ice Blues, Same Zebco reel, spooled the same way. All have yourbobbersdown spring bobbers, different styles and sensitivities tried and swapped in/out over the years. Have about 2dz rod/reel combos laying around but use these most of the time.

Thorne Bros. Quiverstick for fishing small jigs--my #1 panfish rod.

Thorne Bros. Panfish Sweetheart for fishing small spoons and heavier panfish jigs.

Any medium light rod with a spring bobber for super light biters.
