Ice Report on Winnie

Group of guys are heading up from Nebraska on Jan 7. Watching the forecast everyday and it appears temps will stay below freezing from the looks. Curious if anyone knows what the condition is now as a starting point. Really want to make the trip but have to have decent ice to make the long drive worth the effort. Thanks!

Winny is still wide open .. hopefully the snow and cold snap coming will lock it up.

Thanks for the report! Fingers crossed for some cold weather. Otherwise 5 guys are going to have to find alternative entertainment. Wives approve of the prior over the latter.

Nodak's, on the South side, will be allowing ATVs out this weekend. Sounds like 6 inches of ice to date.

I called tamarak lodge next to high banks and their report was 5-6 inches. I was also told that the water is cloudy again this yr. The perch fishing isn't the same when it's cloudy. Don't get me wrong, still worth the 14hr drive for me but it takes longer to get a limit of jumbo's

Looking for an opinion on if we will be able to drive a pick up on winnie next week. We are at the point where we need to decide if bringing an atv along is needed. Thanks!
