A buddy and I are heading up Friday morning. Anyone been there recently? want to bring the atv but don't want to drag it all the way up there if the ice isn't ready. Any info appreciated.

Heading out tomorrow morning. I would think ice should be fine but my buddy's cousin fell through a couple days ago. Lucky he got out. Not sure where he was but be careful!

There were also 2 more that went in last Friday. With the snow cover be extremely careful. Brushy can be very dangerous so use caution guys.

I'll second that.  I moved 4 times and only had two crappies to show for it.  Caught those at 25 foot over 35 foot bottom depth.  The ice seemed pretty constant at around 7 to 8 inches.  Patches of bare ice mixed with small snow drifts 6 to 9 inches deep.  Several ATV's out with the rest of the guys being foot soldiers.
take care,
Dave  :>)

I was out yesterday morning and it was a tough bite.  I finally found a school of gills but couldn't pull anything up bigger than 6"

no.

just getting back home...fished 10-12 off west ramp and skunked, then 1230-4 off north ramp and caught 4 dink gills in 25 FOW. group of 4 next to me didn't catch anything. I tried raps, buckshots, waxies, and spikes. Multiple people driving on it...drove from the north ramp clear down to the beach area.

I was skunked on Sunday. Punched 30 holes, hardly  mark anything with no takers. The lake kicks my butt on a regular basis. My hats off to those of you who do well out there. :icefish:

We fished there Weds from the north ramp with ATV and all the way down to the east boat ramp almost clear across from the beach. There is an ice heave that runs east and west almost all the way across close to this ramp and we drove around it next to shore on east side. Fishing was slow for us too. RH

Has anyone ever ice fished below brushy spillway? Does it ever even lock up and get solid? Just looking for new places to try. Thanks

I've seen quite a few folks fishing down there in the spring and summer.  Never been there in the winter(Yet), but I have to believe the water would be open below the spillway year round.

It is open year round. Last year it froze for a few weeks with the cold we had but didn't last long. Never really seen anyone fish it in winter.

I plan to head to brushy in the morning and I was wondering if anyone has been there recently. Also it will be my first time there so I am open to any advice for fishing it.

Thanks!
