No predictions.. ;D  just watch the edges where the runoff occurs. I'm hoping to be down there myself.

It was good on Sunday. 6-ish inches over in the trees on the west side of the lake..  Slow but steady bite.

A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work!

Thats hilarious! Sounds like somebody doesnt want you on the ice! We just got done cleaning fish from todays catch and we had the four wheeler all over 12 Mile everywhere we went had great ice. I personally did not see any spots to be too concerned with. We came in from the east and ended up not near the east, in our favorite spot.

We fished 12 mile from 2 to 5 yesterday. Some of the places walking out from the west boat ramp gave you the willys. Didn't bother me much but the 2 newbies we had along it kind of spooked them. But you could make it ok on foot. Where we fished north of the old road bed and bridge was right at 7 inches. There was 5 of us for a while and I only drilled 5 holes cuz that was all that was needed. And wow, the size to the crappie and bluegills is something else. Bro hooked a perch also but lost it as it was coming out the hole. Other than the wind blowing like witch hazel it was a perfect day and today should be even better.  Lots of people out on the ice and several 4 wheelers.

12 Mile looks to be a lake that one needs to practice selective harvest this year. Lots of pressure. Fished Sat. all day. Saw a few groups fish it early AM. catch a good mess of fish leave and come back again a couple hours later to fill their buckets again. A 660 acre lake can't take that kind of pressure day in and day out. Ice was 6" thick and soft on top at the end of Sat. With cold temps I am sure she will firm back up.

Sounds like Lake Anita 2 years ago. Saw a guy catch his limit of 8.5-9" gills, leave and come back 30 min. later with a buddy and proceed to catch both their limits.

Ice should be a good 7 or better, as for the bite you will have to find out for yourself. have not fished it this year

ice was a good and loud 9" on 12 mile. Crappies were biting good up until 10am or so. Also caught a fat 3lb LMB  ;D Over a dozen shacks out, mostly north of the roadbed

Was down at 3 Mile a few weeks ago and did pretty good but went over the weekend and it has really opened up.  Fished 12 Mile and a pretty good crappie bite.

Guessing you mean the ice on 3 mile is getting spotty? I was thinking about heading down there this weekend but if the ice isn't good I'll stay up here. How was the ice near the roadbeds for both lakes? The GF has never been there and I wanted to get her down there this year but with the forecast I'm not sure if that's going to happen.

Both 3 and 12 have open water from the geese, but even the spots we normally fish at 3 Mile are now open water.  Lots of shanties on 12 Mile and other than a few spots appears to be good.  Been out of town to Clear Lake and Spirit the two weekends prior and they are having problems there too with vehicles going in.  Pay attention and stay safe.

I was fishing on water sheds around Afton and ice still good 5.5-6.5" where the wind didn't tear it up but fishing was awesome

Fished a couple Afton farm ponds that had a good 6" on them also, but they are in a low lying area and not much wind exposure.  Headed to 12 Mile this morning and hope for a good morning of fishing!
