where is the first place your going to Ice Fish This year?

I'm still optimistic for sat. Dec.15th I got my fingers crossed and prayers said there will be some ice in the igl area that I can walk on.

Not negative just realistic....Sad thing is words out and what little fishable ice there is will be packed unless the foul weather forcast scares some off...

hoping to get out within 2 weeks or so. hoping clear lake freezes over here soon. heading up to Lake mille lac after XMAS hopefully thats a good trip. and theres a bunch of ice!

Well I thought it was gonna be a small lake earlier, but its gonna turn out to be Upper Red Lake on Sat 7am should be drilling holes. Nice......

URL was on fire when we were up there but then the cold front rolled thru and slowed things down a lil.  But then again catching 5 walleyes an hr is slow up there.  Had a heckuva time and will be up there again soon.

Farm pond couple miles from the house. Trying out a new reel and downing some cold ones!  Hopefully in a couple weeks!

Ended up making it up to spirit lake on sat. The rain held off up there for most of the day which was nice. The ice that was there was getting soft and sketchy at best. Ended up fishing the grade with no results ice there was about 2-2.5 inches. Went over to anglers and ice was 1.5-2.5 inches and very sketchy as it would crack as u walked. Didn't fish but only 10-20 mins there with no results. Headed over to templar and fished there most of the afternoon and me and a couple buddies caught a lot of small gils and ended up with 4 keeper gil and 2 keeper perch from there. Upon leaving the shoreline was really bad and some boots may have gotten wet. Be safe out there folks and hopefully by this weekend the ice will stiffen up a bit and add some thickness as well.

Made it to Red Lake last weekend. Awesome!!!!!
I heard people were on shore slough in lansing over a week ago. Nothing in ne ia along the minn bord er r yet. Now the two rotten inches we have is under the snow. Grrr...

I got out on Oconto Falls Pond today! We slammed in some tip-ups and got 3 Pike. The biggest was a 28 incher! Ice is JUNK after our blizzard but it was enough to walk out on. A few guys had portables set up....not a great start to the season but at least it's a start!
