bass pro hand auger with drill adapter
« on: Jan 25, 2015, 04:05 PM »
I've been waiting to try my new setup and today got to finally try it out. It worked great I was cutting through 8 to 11"s of ice and cut 12 holes with an old battery on my 18v ryobi lithium drill I picked up two new batteries and didn't need them. The auger is a 6" bass pro shop auger looks identical to a strike master Mora just red. I would recommend the drill adapter and auger.

The kovac 2 ice master is a perfect adapter. I would recommend it to anyone.

You really don't want to use anything bigger then a 6" with the drill setup.

6" is tops with a drill and you have to adj your clutch to the highest setting and your speed to no 1 at least that's what I use otherwise it will die quick or slip

This is my setup, never had any issues. We've done 25 holes and still had over half a battery left.

Here's what I have been using this year, really impressed, the only issue is if it is snowing, but I am working on an idea to make the drill weather proof with some sort of cover. Over 40 holes and still going with 14 inches of ice. I have a strikemaster laser auger and put brand new Swedish blades on it. Very light.
