Where are some real hot spots for walleyes in champlain? I can only seem to occasionally get one while jigging perch. Do you run tip-ups or jig? What is the best time?
If the ice never melted I'd never leave.

Caught a real nice eye in Red Rock this past summer. Boy did it ever pull line, fought like crazy, I released it unharmed so if you can get there good luck. Whats the ice like right now?  I'm from mass. but  am planning a trip to fish Champy maybe in early January.

4-5 inches by the boat launch on Hathaway's Pt Road. Pretty slow fishing with a few peak bites.
If the ice never melted I'd never leave.

there is 16-18". It was a nice fish on my little bibbit pole.  Felt bad when I cut her open and she was full of eggs, oh well.

It must have felt nice! Its not too often people get walleye on jig poles in Champlain.

oh well.
ya that's the problem with everyone keeping those big hens there all full of eggs.they don't taste as good as the 18 to 20" fish so why kill them.
