North woods bait shop put on by Dan Loyd is having a crappie tournament this Saturday, march 2nd
Sign up at the bait shop right on the main drag in Chassell.
This is a team event 2 man
$25 per team
7a.m.-6p.m.
Heaviest 10 crappie per team.
Biggest crappie and biggest perch.
Paying 1-4 places
Early entry before march 1st gets one doz small minnows free
Please sign up in advance as soon as possible.

Well lack of sign ups. But the tournament went on with only 4 teams. Not much of a tourny but had fun. Me and millertime won with 12.10 pounds for 10 crappie. Smallest about 12. Biggest borderline 14 inches by me. We caught well over 40 crappie. We kept 28. Smallest around 9 inches (the ones we didn't weigh). Plenty of 10, 11, and 12 inchers. Hopefully we can have a good turnout next year!

anyone know what happened to the web cam that was installed at the Chassell boat launch? It was always nice to fire that up and wish you were out fishing instead of at work!

I woulda joined in on the festivities with my grandpa but i was stuck at drill. Wouldn't you know it the one weekend out of the month that I have to work is the the one with a tournament that I would actually wanna participate in.

I'm in next year! Dan is a great guy and I love supporting his business. I've never ice fished crappie out there before (but I'm willing to give it a try), but I get all my pike bait from him and he's always very helpful and pleasant.

There will be more advertising about the tournament next year. It could be really good if we get a lot of people to sign up.
