WW, myself and a buddy tried circle hooks when dead baiting for lakers, and they did not work at all. We even tried letting them take the bait for a couple minutes and never once got a hook-up (maybe their mouth is too hard). I would never use them for lakers and you shouldn't either, unless maybe someone else out there has had better luck, but I'll be surprised to hear about it, but still wouldn't try it again. Great for cats though.
And whats a Hali spoon? never heard of them.
