Title: Plastics storage
Post by: Wavfire831 on Nov 03, 2018, 09:39 PM
Ok so I manly fish with plastics during ice season and have lots of different plastics anyone have a good compact storage system I have used the clam wallets they have for plastics and it works but can only have a few with me and there isn’t enough bags.  So wondering if anyone has a good storage method to keep them moist and easily transported.

I added a couple of these to the cart when ordering some of their plastics (chigger fry) recently.  They haven't arrived yet but they weren't too expensive so Ill give em a try.  Getting hard to keep track of all the plastics in my old scrip bottles. Hard to see what's in each bottle without opening it.

Anyone have any new ideas for plastic storage now that they've picked up some popularity? I'd rather keep my plastics in the zip lop bag they come in, but need a better way to organize them to see what I all have instead of just throwing them into a zip lock sandwich bag...

I'm thinking more something like this so they can stay in the bags they come in

I had been using the stackable plastic cups like Scupbaron. This year I'm just leaving them in their original bags and putting them in a quart size zip lock bag. I find that easier to store in my tackle bag.

I'm trying more plastics this year, I picked up a Clam wallet for storage. First impression is the vinyl pockets it came with are pretty flimsy and will not hold up.

3"x 4", there are eight of them.

Are they heavier than a ziploc freezer bag?

I use a freezer bag now and it works fine. The issue is trying to find the right individual bag for the right plastic when switching colors, if you are trying to stay organized. If you don't care what bag you throw them back into then a ziplock bag seems to work.

How about the zip lock bag in the “snack” size? Smaller, and more compact!

What about a two ring binder and ziplock bags hole punched above the seal?

No, more like a cheap generic sandwich bag.  We'll see how they hold up?
