The 10 day forecast is not looking great,after one day like today the ice has deteriorated greatly. Hopefully in wrong but it looks like we may have to start over after next week. Hope everyone is safe and uses good judgement!

Time to get the boat or waders out,the thaw is going to be around awhile so I don't think any iffy waters are going to be safe from here on out.

The way I see it the temps forecasted are daytime highs That means its below freezing for more hours than it's above.
As long as it don't rain or get really windy during the day when its above 32 the ice that is on now should stay ok for the most part.

Looking at the Accuweather's forecast for February, the second and third week don't look to bad. Subject to change of course!

With 45 degs at midnight , I was up pacing until 2 am wondering if my puddle survived .
It did and still held 5" black ice . It was an Awesome day on the ice !!!!

Come on man !! Get over it .. There is ice to be fished , it has been warm , yes 45 at midnight last night but still ice to be fished .
I have a boat or 2 but don't want to break it out until April.

It will hold pretty well where I fish. Not Oneida.... Cold front moving in right after this warm-up. I will be on ice into March 1st, I'm sure. Head North!!!

I hammered the perch in late dec early jan in open water while others whined about no ice ......get out there in the open water

I'm not afraid to fish open water just find the piers on the lakes perch.I fish behind a dam here never freezes it has a shallow shelf and then drops off to about 15 /20 foot ..
