Ok gents, the guys from Fort Wayne made it happen with their meet and dinner. I propose a meet on the ice and we actually cook lunch on the ICE!! I have a turkey deep fryer that we could deep fry some fish. Fish all day, have lunch on the ice, what could be better!
I think we should have it up north somewhere.

I would like to see this on pike lake in warsaw, there are 3 lakes in town 2 of them are walleye lakes you also have food/tackel/bait and whatever just min. from the lake its mid point from east-west state lines there is lots of parking and a park at pike well its just my 2 cents.

Ha...I've been struggling lately. Call the "filthy funk slump". You wouldn't want me to organize a get together 'cause it might spread like the flu.

It was a 24 hour or so thing for me but hit me like a truck. wife says it was caused by fishing too much. Is that possible? ;) But depending where its held I'd try to get there.

does anyone know how the ice is at the chain? that would be a shorter trip for our warsaw guys.

I think Chain O Lakes would be a great spot! If you are talking about the one in noble Co. It has so many lakes to fish people can jump around. That's just my opinion. But if
you go up around Angola there are lots of lake options there as well.

I think Crooked Lake in Steuben would be a great place! Plenty of parking and has nice marbles!

Does Crooked Lake still have smelt?? Never caught one before, just wondering. I have never fished there but my Dad does quite a bit. I know there's some huge pike in there. Would be nice to have it somewhere where there's walleyes so someone can teach me how to catch them. I catch more muskies than walleyes, just have a thing with them I guess...

I can get you guys set up with a guide if you are interested. Same guide I use.

How long is the drive up there? Never fished Saginaw
Group of guys and myself are heading to Put in Bay to ice fish Feb. 26,27,and 28th with John Hageman over there. Just hope they have ice then.

Saginaw Bay is a 2.5 hour drive from the state line. I would much rather go to Saginaw Bay than Erie.
#1. I doubt the ice will be good enough for Erie this year.
#2. The Eye's are bigger on Saginaw.
#3. No icebreakers go through Saginaw Bay!
#4. Saginaw Bay is safer.
All these reasons are IMHO only.
