I happened to be driving by Deep Cr Lake on the way to hunt deer in WV this past week and while driving past Bill's Outdoor Center I saw on their sign that they are to be closed from Nov 1 to April 1 this winter. So don't plan on getting tackle, bait, or licenses there. I'm guessing that you can likely park in their lot and pull your sled down to the ice if you want to fish the deep water nearby.
By the way, we had daytime highs over 60 for the first couple of days of deer season and I was in nearby Preston Co., WV. With temps like that in the 4th week of Nov it may be a while before ice appears. In past deer seasons there I have seen ice on the fringes and small lakes nearby occasionally. Not even a hint of ice anywhere this time.
