I finally broke the curse and actually caught a Trout during the Horne Pond derby yesterday. YEA... and was on the leader board for a while, but got knocked off before the day was done

While it was nice to break the jinx, I would have enjoyed it more if it was our Granddaughter who caught it, but unfortunately she couldn't make it

The elusive derby trout , good for you catching one . How was the turn out ?
I fished a few derbies there when my buddy used to put his shack there. It was hard to find space to put traps but it was still fun.

Thanks. I heard there was 300 people in the Derby and while it looked busy out there, I think back during the Ice Shanty days out there it was a much bigger turn out for this Derby back then.

My Granddaughter who is 7 would of just loved to bring that fish out of the hole and one of the reason I did that derby, but unfortunately she could not make it

Yep Good days back then. I remember the 1st time we went and ended up fishing next to you
