Bountiful Bucketmouths
« on: Jan 13, 2023, 04:38 PM »
After getting blanked at Boyd, AKA the Dead Sea, last weekend, I was ready to catch some fish. So, we hit up the private lake my mom lives on. As it turns out, the grass IS greener on that side of the fence. Micro plastics on tungsten heads were the winner today - even the bigger bass seemed to prefer them. Bluegills were finicky today - we had to work for the few we did catch. Anyway, fun day. Enjoy the pics!

Fishing ponds sure is a lot of fun and is a great confidence builder after a big public place has humbled you. I'm fixin to go to a 3 acre pond tomorrow to get my family on top of some gills and bass after we had just an average trip at our local 900 acre lake. Hopefully the fish will cooperate!

Nice Bass.   I fish a 9 acre private pond a few times each ice season then I get board.  Boyd lake has been brutally bad this year.  Not sure if it’s the low water, extreme cold snap, or the shad explosion.

Nice haul you guys have there and it’s always nice when you get to fish where nobody else is. The fish are on the feeding frenzy

We had to fight the Hordes on a highly pressured lake for these critters Friday:

Very nice!  Looks like a great variety of species, and healthy bass.  What was the largest?

Also, how does one score an invitation to join next time?  ;D

Solid rebound after a slow day.  Fantastic.
