Was doing some spring cleaning in the garage and found my 1988 vintage Humminbird LCR 4ID portable fishfinder tucked away on the back of a shelf. It came with a 58 Starcraft 16 foot runabout I purchased back in 2015. I had put it away back then and kind of forgot about it. It takes two six volt lantern batteries in the base. Hooked up to a couple lantern batteries as per the instructions and turned it on. Get clicks from the transducer so that's working. Selected self test and the two color display works but is kind of dim. Figured the lantern batteries could be low so I hooked it up to the 12 volt battery in the car and found no improvement. Turning on the finder's light doesn't help with the dim display. I think the display screen may have just given up the ghost after 33 years. Anybody got any thoughts n such?
