Hi All, We switched it up and went after the warm water species for a change. After a season of low catching of Trout and Salmon this day was perfect.
I got 3 traps set and they started popping one after another. The first was a pickerel the next the biggest white perch I ever caught then a yellow perch. We also caught some good size crappie. I tried the jig pole but I only caught tiny yellow perch with that and the shiners were working great and I went through over 2 dozen bait myself. I had some good size pickerel on but missed some by only using 8 LB leader. It was a great day and came home with some fillets .

Very nice, Wayne.  I love those late season "smorgasbord" days   It's the way to send the hard water season out with a flurry.

I tried after getting Crappie flags. They didn’t want the jigs they liked shiners . Ha ha !

I too have had a slow year with the salmon and trout.  I recently had a good morning with the pickerel and white perch.  Sometimes it's just fun to have a bunch of action
