Over for me...how far south are they fishing
« on: Feb 28, 2021, 08:23 AM »
With rain and warm ups im done. Put away the gear. Just didn't like the slop and the soft ice in spots. Hitting the streams and rivers with the fly rod next week.
Watched a video of ice fishing in Texas. How strange is that?

Fish on hardwater pals and hope to see you guys  on the soft water ( unless we get another super cold snap which ill def drag out some gear...ha)

That was great!!   ;D ;D Love them Texas augers!!   My ice fishing gear is put away. I imagine the rivers will be messed up for awhile. Time to do some looking around and see what's shaking around Portage or Michigan City for some Coho's.

Looks like future corpses! Being that disrespectful of ice will bite you eventually and advising others to do the same is pretty stupid, IMO! Hex

I'm right down by the Newton/Benton Co lines and the 22nd was my last day. Tried sneaking out the 23rd but the edges were shot, ended up stepping through shin deep.

I put all the gear away and started doing boat prep over the weekend.

Yesterday was my last outing here. I cleaned 15 nice gills. The edge was bad about 3’ out when I went on and when I came off it had gotten a little wider, about 6’. Headed north in the morning for 3-4 days. Then I’ll come home and get a boat ready.

Last Friday was our last day south of Ft Wayne.  Wife and I did good.   We were able to get all the friends together and  make a good day of it.
