Full Moon Crappies
« on: Dec 30, 2020, 09:06 PM »
Technically the full moon was last night but whatevs.  Went out for the evening crappie bite with a buddy, 4pm-515.  Fish turned on right on cue at 420.  Buddy doesnt have a flasher so we took turns, one man on the flasher one man on the fish whistle.  Best evening of the year.  Bite was over by 515 and we ended with 11, coulda put 20 on the ice if we werent taking turns at em.  RIIPPP!

The warm glow in the evening light

Got some intel on my favorite crappie lake having 4 plus inches! Can't wait to try it out.

Good haul thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys!  Its very satisfying putting in the work to find submerged brush piles that consistently produce fish.  Also worth noting: In the days preceeding the full moon (when the moon was up before sundown), the evening bite was fairly subdued.  As soon as we get past full moon and the moon doesnt come up until after sundown, the evening bite seems much more pronounced, and then dies at moonrise.  Just observations.

Some of my favorite fish to chase during ice season. Great skills and fish guys.
