Red Feather losing ice
« on: Mar 01, 2014, 08:27 PM »
If you want to fish Dowdy, and I assume any of the other Red Feathers, you might want to get up there within the next week or so.  Fished it today, since the road over to Lake John was dicey.  Ice seemed to be thinning down pretty fast - looked like no more than 8", and the shoreline was starting to soften up in places.  About 2" of new snow on the surface.

Fabulous weather there today.  From Ft. Collins to Longmont I drove in snow and freezing drizzle, but at Dowdy I was in sunshine, very light wind, and the bite was pretty good.  I've never seen more people out there than I saw today.

Off to North Park early tomorrow morning.
There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing.
