I just got back from the redemption center and had 6 5gal buckets full of empties
I have also used one covered with a blanket to quickly carry a swarm of bees out of a tree and into a beehive

Pegagsus if you use windshield washer fluid in the bottom of pail its no poisonous and it pickles the vermon and keeps them from smelling, I have a camp record of 25 deer mice.

I used one at the end of the ice fishing season for bait storage.  I cut a bunch of holes an inch wide all along the middle and top part
of the bucket, leaving about 4 inches for water in the bottom.  Then I riveted  some nylon mesh over the holes so that water could
pass through.  I put on a screw top lid, and threw it in the brook with live bait.  Every time I would go fishing i would pull the bucket
out of the brook, and take what minnows I needed.  Smelt lived comfortably right alongside shiners.  I did this for about 4 weeks,
and hardly lost a fish.

The best use of a 5-gal or smaller bucket is holes for a ice shanty floor. Cut them off just below the bottom rim Cut the hole in the shanty floor and when  pail is warm squeeze them into the floor with a tire iron and screw driver .One ridge above floor one below . Save your cover so when you tow its a tight hole .no snow inside . I,ve been doing this for years .when fishing the cut off bottom part of pail with  the bottom cut out  .Makes a draft guard ,fish through it .  Good design

temporary bait pen, drill small holes, get a lid, put a decent but not so large of a rock in it, put your shiners in it, tie it off and sink it.

I lay them on the ground and use them for Kids to throw balls into. It helps the young ones work on their throw, they all want their ball to go in the bucket.

I also use them for a seat when I do soft toss to the kids and then they get to carry it when they go collect all the balls they just hit. ;D ;D

Now that I look at that pic I see you must park your vehicle on a level surface I dont think my legs would reach the ground for stability  where you have that parked literally would leave me hangin

Just get a drop hitch and you will be fine. You would be surprised how much it goes down with the vehicle's shocks, comfy!
And always take the keys out or someone is bound to drive off with you sitting on the throne.

New meaning to the words Dump Truck
I want to be buried in 6 or 7 of 'em, gotta be cheaper than a coffin.  This is the only comfort my family will have, the cheap expense of my final vessel.
"Well, don't you have life insurance, Tom?"
"Nope.  When I die, it's going to be a sad day for everybody."

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

saw a guy with one that had its bottom cut out put mesh over it. he threw it into a brook and retrieved it when the smelts were running and got a crap ton and threw them into a cooler and drove off.

this was in a lake that smelting was illegal on.

That is just wrong because your poor family will have to dismember you to fit you in several 5 gallon pails. Be easier to save your carcass until spring and just have a burn pile ;D

Just have them run you thru a meat grinder and you will fit in one 5 gallon bucket and they can save the rest for bait, pack basket, sauce pans, bumper dumpers.
