I moved from NH to Oxford, ME this spring. I haven't done any pike fishing yet, but all of the pike guys say Sabbattus is the best place in southern Maine. Sebago has them, but at a much lower density. I don't think you need a guide for Sabbatus. I would just pop over to the Maine IceShanty page and ask if there are any local guys you could tag along with.

I'm sure someone prob would tag along the only benefit to a guide I provide everything so you'd just need to bring a Maine fishing license

Forry,

Sabbatus is small...wouldn't need a guide. We went there blind, me and Big Jim, and caught 28 pike......stop by Dags Bait and Tackle, get the biggest Goldens they have, and make sure you have 20+lb leaders, or steel leaders with trebles and have fun!!!

how do you fish for them? the same way you would fish for lakers, pickerel, riight on the bottom? 2.3.4. feet off bottom? I have never fished for them so any other help would certainly help out alot. thanks in advance if you or anyone else would care to share.

Sabbatus is the best bet. Literally shooting fish in a barrel.

X2 what Scott said.

Was told the North end held bigger fish but it's a real long walk from the ramp / parking lot.
