With as little ice fishing that actually occurred this year, do you think it means our lakes will be even more populated with fish?

NO. I fished with an UW cam last year and there were hundereds and hundreds of fish. and i caught 4..I dont think ice fisherman even have any kind of impact on the fish. Nature has a profoundly more influence on the population than we can possibly imagine..IMO

On some lakes it will put a huge number of lets say gills through to the next year. There are lakes that have tremendous pressure in the winter. By the end of the season you are looking at thousands if not tens of thousands of fish that would have be taken. I can remember the last time this happend and the next season was great for larger fish.

My lake sees way more pressure in the winter than any other time of year. This year it has been even more significant with a lack of ice everywhere else. While your lake is cruising by mine is getting pounded. Should I expect the opposite?

It's a fine line between fishing & sitting on the ice like an idiot

Gill this could also work in your favor. Less fish can also open up avalible food and growth rates will increase. The curveball hear is the DNR on your lake. What are they going to toss in there this spring?
