First time out this season--Livingston Co.
« on: Dec 21, 2009, 06:28 PM »
As I wait patiently to begin my smelt season, I was able to hit Pleasant Lake in Livingston Co.  I got out at 1530hrs and fished until 1800hrs. I was fortunate to keep 4 nice perch, the largest being a 13" hog. I also caught many smaller perch and gills-- none really too big.  Caught all perch on fire tiger jggin rap tipped with a single minnow, and gills on a halis with spike in approx. 5 feet of water.  Lake had a steady ice depth of 4". Had to drill a bunch of holes and move around, but its all in a days work.  I would like to learn how to post pics.  Thanks  Nick

I do most of my smelt fishing on Lake Fifteen in Montmorency Co. and I go on my days off, with some extended weekends through the season.  I also hit McCormick lake for smelt and Browns.
